High School Curricula

The WOGCA High School is on a year long course schedule. Students take seven credits per year. WOGCA graduation course requirements follow the admission requirements for prospective candidates in the UNC system.  Students must complete the following courses for graduation:

DAILY BIBLE STUDY

Biblical studies are an integral part of the curriculum at WOGCA. Students complete a course in Bible every year from kindergarten through grade twelve. Students are taught to process Bible knowledge and make application with the goal of developing biblical wisdom. Ultimately, WOGCA desires that the impact of each biblical course encourages each student and creates a desire to understand the importance of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Colossians 2:2-3 states “My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God , namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Integration of biblical knowledge and biblical precepts are emphasized beyond individual Bible courses Throughout the curriculum biblical integration is stressed. Furthermore, the expectation for teachers at WOGCA is for each of them to teach as “Living Curriculum Teachers” the term coined by Wheaton Academy used to describe teachers who are “born again followers of Jesus Christ and desire that same personal relationship with Christ for their students”. Living Curriculum teachers are “happy and positive people” who are “humble and trustworthy” and “relationship builders.” They “partner with parents” and are “lifetime learners” who live to motivate others. Living Curriculum teachers impact students far beyond their matriculation to college.
