Spiritual Life

Students attending WOGCA will receive daily Bible instruction..

At WOGCA our daily goal is to integrate biblical knowledge and world history with exercises in

application of the Word of God for their own lives. Modes of instruction are listed however are not limited to the following examples:

Project-based learning

Book studies

Group projects

Speeches

Participation in forums and panel discussions

Students will have the opportunity to explore spirituality, religion, and ethics throughout the culture of WOGCA. Conversations will occur in classrooms, among faculty and students in the hallways, and every week in Chapel.

Our weekly Chapel Services are rooted in the foundation of Christian principals and the rich spiritual heritage of our Founders, the late Dr. Frank and Pastor JoeNell Summerfield. Since 2017, the legacy continues under the leadership and stewardship of our Senior Pastor Mitch Summerfield who supports the religious and philosophical diversity of WOGCA students. Our program encourages students to reflect on questions that have long been of central importance to human life:

  • Who am I?

  • Why am I here?

  • What is my purpose?

More concretely, our Bible curriculum also teaches students about the religious traditions of the world, approaches to spirituality and ethics, and by raising important issues in school life. We will also explore the large questions of humanity in relationship to the struggles within our communities, our national, and global stage.

“My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” Colossians 2:2-3
